First Day of School 2012

Just a little late....Lauren started preschool in September like all kids normally do.  Mommy took pictures and was all excited for Lauren, but failed to post them.  We were busy in the midst of packing and getting ready to move.  At least I took a picture!  I had more, but they were on the camera that got lost in the move.  Thank goodness for the one on my phone!  Anyways, this year, Lauren attends preschool at St. James Lutheran Church Early Childhood Center in Burnsville, Minnesota.  Her teacher is Miss Ginny.  Lauren is excited to be in the "big" class.  This is her last year of preschool before starting kindergarten next year!  WHERE HAS TIME GONE?  WHERE IS MY BABY?!  Well, I guess all grown up!

This is what Lauren's up to:
1.  Starting to "read" aka she has memorized some books and will "read" them to her brother.
2.  Tying her own shoes AND everyone else's!  (We caught her up in her bunk bed late one night "practicing" with a string tied on the side of the bed!)
3.  Writing her name in lower case.
4.  Beginning to read the words that Brian and I spell out so she doesn't know what we're talking about!
5.  Fixing her own hair.  I like to play with her hair too (when she let's me).
6.  Going to lots of birthday parties.
7.  Swimming lessons...she's in the "ray" level working on treading water and swimming with all sorts of strokes without assistance.
8.  Dance...both ballet and tap.  She LOVES her TAP shoes.
9.  Helping with chores around the house...last weekend, she mopped the entire downstairs, dusted, folded clothes, and helped me clean the bathrooms!
10.  Starting to add small numbers.
11.  Starting to tell us words that begin with specified letters.
12.  Almost tall enough to go on the 44" rides at Valley Fair....and the only thing stopping her from roller coasters there is her height.  She goes on the Monster, Scrambler, etc....even one's that I can't handle!

She's our little girl and she's growing up supper fast.  We love her to pieces and can't imagine life without her!
