3 years ALREADY!?!

This is what 3 looks like:

Hi.  It's Lauren.  My mom can't believe this, but I'm three today!  It's my birthday and I'm going to celebrate big.  Mommy even let me have a break from quiet time.  I sometimes get to skip it, but most of the time I still have a nap in the afternoon for 2-3 hours.  Guess what, my brother is sleeping in my room now.  If he can do it all night, so can I!  Yep, as soon as my brother came to my room, I decided it wasn't so bad to sleep in my own big girl bed.  I think my mommy and daddy are proud of me (and VERY thankful!)  I don't even wake up when my brother cries in the middle of the night.  Now that I'm three, I get to do cool activities.  I started dance last week.  In the fall, I get to do Sunday school.  I'm so excited.  I love to help with my brother and mostly will willingly do my "big sister" jobs like throwing dirty diapers away.  I'm getting better at swimming and love to go down the big slide at the hotel.  I like to ride my bike.  I do the pedals and have made it all the way around the block by our house.  (Don't worry, I do wear a helmet). 

I went to the doctor with my brother today.  I did not want to wear the princess gown that the nurse gave me, so I just wore my clothes.  I weighed 36 pounds (90%tile) and was 38 1/4 inches tall (80%tile).  I did not have to get any shots.  When Dr. Spike wanted me to lay on the table, I did not want to.  I let him check me out while I was on mommy's lap.  The nurse also played some hearing and vision games with me.  I had to tell her the shapes I saw including circle, square, etc. (which I did up close).  Then she put the poster on a wall and had me stand at the other wall.  Then I told her all the shapes were "octagons" (and there weren't ANY octagons on the poster)...silly me.  Then I did the same thing with the hearing game when I listened to the beeps.  Oh to be three!

+knows her ABCS
+beginning to recognize some letters (mostly the ones in her name)
+wears big girl underwear all the time (and has been since last Aug/Sept)
+starting dance
+best friends:  Reegan, Leah, Abi
+loves to swim
+favorite color is yellow
+favorite meal is either mac and cheese and salmon or steak and potatoes
+favorite place to go eat is Culvers
+likes to go to garage sales with car seats (and then finds dolls, stuffed animals, etc. to buckle).
