Our baby boy is already 1 month old!
Lauren still adores him and is a wonderful big sister! She likes to hold him and is willing to take his dirty diapers to the garbage. She has also been able to help feed him some bottles. Lauren is very much into playing with her dolls and uses Nolan's toys for her babies when he's not.
Nolan is doing what he's supposed to: eating, sleeping, and pooping! He is nursing on demand and doing very well. Nolan likes to suck all the time, but really eats every 2-4 hours. He prefers the Soothie pacifier even though we've tried others. Nolan has slept up to 5 1/2 hours at night, but tends to wake up to eat every 3-4 hours. He likes cat naps during the day if there's lots going on, but will take up to 3 hour naps when Lauren is in daycare and we are home. He's been holding my hand practically since the day he was born (so sweet) and he's got GIGANTIC hands. Nolan has begun to smile when spoken too...with me it was on Easter Sunday! He's also big into musical toys and will search out the sounds.
We've been extremely busy, so it's hard to believe that Nolan's already 1 month old! When he was just 2 weeks old, we made our first trip back to South Dakota as a family for my sister, Noel's, wedding. Crazy times to pack up 2 adults, 2 children, and 2 furry friends! Both kiddos were fabulous travelers and I believe we made the trip in 4 1/2 hours stopping once to eat supper and feed Nolan. The kids and I made another trip back the end of April for the Kingswood Rummage sales. Again both were fabulous travelers and both ways we only needed to stop once. I like to stop in St. James because they have a McDonalds with a playland. Lauren can burn some energy while I feed Nolan. (If only it would get nice, then I could actually find a park or something!)
So we've done some traveling, but we've also had visitors up. All of the grandparents have been up to Shakopee to meet their new grandson. We were also lucky enough to spend Easter up in the cities with Grandma Bonnie and Grandpa Dave. More grandparent trips are planned and we are excited to spend some more family time.
