It began on Wednesday when I got to pick Lauren up from preschool for kindergarten screening. I arrived and picked her up on the playground. The minute she saw me, she said that she had a surprise for me in her backpack and that she wanted me to open it as soon as we got home. Well, we got to her back pack and she just could not wait any more. She wanted me to open it right then and there! I did and boy what a nice bracelet. I've worn it all weekend; she even told me I needed to wear it to the gym!
It continued on Saturday when Brian actually got the entire day off! We all went to watch Lauren at dance and then had lunch together. After lunch, I got the first part of my mother's day present...a PEDICURE with one of my best friends. We went after lunch while our hubbies watched the kiddos. That may have to happen more often!
And on THE day; the special day that I get to celebrate my most challenging and favorite career, being a MOM, I got to spend the ENTIRE day with my family doing fun things...It started off with celebrating at church. And continued with our annual lunch out at Culvers. Did you know that mom's get free sundaes? (That tradition started on my first Mother's Day and hasn't changed since!) After Culvers, we spent the gorgeous day outside at Valley Fair! Yep, the idea that I gave Brian for my present was season passes to Valley Fair...more family time...more outside! It was so much fun, even Nolan LOVED it. Lauren liked the fast rides. She went on the Scrambler 3 times with daddy (mommy doesn't do those rides!) and some fast kiddie roller coasters with mommy. The only thing stopping her from the big roller coasters is her size. At almost 42 inches, she is limited on what she can do, but we still found plenty of fun AND short lines. Nolan did sleep for a portion of our trip. He also enjoyed going on the Merry-Go-Round. After the first time, he pointed towards it again to request going more. The only other line that we really had to wait in was for the antique cars. Mommy drove and everyone else rode! Nolan spent most of his time trying to get the seatbelt off! Some comments made by Lauren..."This is crazy, let's go again!" regarding the roller coaster. "Mommy that was FUN; I didn't even PUKE mommy! regarding the scrambler.
As if spending from noon to 3pm at Valley Fair wasn't exhausting enough, Lauren requested going swimming at the YMCA. After an hour and a half rest, her and I headed over to the YMCA. We went swimming and she tested out her new goggles.

| We could've stood and watched the WAVE all day! |
| But we did some rides instead! Mommy and I went on a BIG swing. I told her it was better than the ones we have at school! |
| I went on this one by myself. It took us to the top and then dropped us down. I giggled a lot! |
| These race cars went super fast! |
| We had fun! |
| Nolan took a nap in the stroller. |
| Daddy took me on the Scrambler. Mommy said she would puke! |
| Nolan was still sleeping! |
| But then he woke up in time to watch me ride the Scrambler for the second time. He reached out cuz he wanted to come too! Mommy said he can't come until he's 36 inches tall! Maybe next summer or the one after that buddy! |
| Nolan got to ride the Merry-Go-Round with me though. He wanted to go two times! |
| We had a fun Mother's Day! I think mommy did too! |
| I made her this present at preschool. |
| I even signed my name on the card. |
| I made this present at Kid Stuff at the YMCA. |
| I made this present at Sunday school at church. Mommy says she LOVES all of my presents. I say I love her! |
Then we came home to a lovely meal of chicken parmigiana that Brian made. YUM! A YUMMY meal to end a fantastic weekend. I'm definitely looking forward to MORE weekends like this.
