A Baby Shower?!

Last night, my amazing co-workers threw me a baby shower.  Lauren was invited to come with.  I told her our plans for the day....the usual, going to the YMCA (Kid Stuff & swimming), then home to eat lunch and clean, quiet time, shopping at the mall, and then a special activity a "baby shower" for your brother.  Let's just say she's WAY LITERAL.  After I told her we were going to a baby shower for her brother, she simply stated that she must sit in the shower and hold her baby!  So sweet, so innocent!  She knows that the rule when she holds all babies is that she must sit down and she knows what a shower is!  Anyways, I proceeded to explain to her that it's a party for her brother.  Then she figured it out.

We had a great time at the shower.  We ate pizza, salad, and bread and enjoyed drinks.  Some had wine; I stuck to sparkling peach juice!  Then we played games:  the one where you have to guess which melted candy bar is in the diaper--Lauren thought this was HYSTERICAL and was almost on the floor laughing!  Next, we played a game where we had to guess the names of the kids on TV shows like the Simpsons, Family Ties, and Happy Days--I was stumped on this one!  The last game took place while I opened gifts:  Baby Bingo.  Everyone was given a blank bingo card and had to fill in gifts they thought I might receive.  I was the bingo caller as I opened the gifts.  Well, actually Lauren and Leah opened the presents for me.  Lauren was even so sweet as to tell individuals "thank-you, then stating their names."  We received awesome gifts:  blankets, diapers, lotion, books, toys, and tons of BOY clothes...so we won't have any shortages of BLUE.  :)

It was a super fun time.  Thanks to all my great co-workers!  Oh, and minimal pictures are due to me forgetting the camera BATTERY!  GRRRR...I did have the camera, but NO battery (it was on the charger at home!)
