Out of the mouth of a 23-month-old:

1. "On the right there." Lauren says this in response to being asked "Where is it?" after she hid mommy's keys or "Where does it hurt?" after falling off her bike.

2. "I want see more 'struction'!" Lauren says this when we're driving and she sees the orange cones. Little does she know that this construction causes our drive to be much slower.

3. "I go shopping." Lauren says this after grabbing any kind of purse and throwing it on her shoulder.

4. "I dunno." With cute little intonation as she responds to questions usually asked regarding where something is, especially keys or phones.

5. "I like it this." or "I no like it this." Lauren uses these phrases to tell others her preferences and dislikes.

6. "I want wear flip tops." Lauren seems to prefer going barefoot, but if she needs to wear something on her feet she generally chooses flip flops. She calls them either "flip flops" or "flip tops."
7. "Want me kiss it.....all better." Lauren is very much aware of other's feelings. I was recently holding my head and she asked me "Mommy, you okay?" I told her I had a headache and then she proceeded to ask me to let her kiss it. After she kissed my head, she said "all better." She's also said this after accidentally stepping on my foot and giving my toes a kiss. Kisses, ice, and bandaids tend to make everything better for this little one. And for this mommy, it's me hearing that sweet little voice!
8. "Mommy hold you." or "Daddy hold you." A frequent request Lauren makes when she wants us to hold her.
9. "Is it mines?" A question to confirm whether an object is Lauren's or someone elses.
