Okay, so I have finally decided to post this story. Babies have lots of firsts and so do mommies! It is not a "proud" mommy moment, but a "learning" one. I am amazed at the words that come out of my baby's mouth! And after this experience have learned to watch what I say in front of her!
On a chilly, February, Thursday morning, I loaded Lauren and all of our "gym" stuff up into the car. I would usually attend a class, while Lauren played at "Kid stuff". Then we would both go swimming. So anyways, we had a ton of stuff to go. We drove to the YMCA just in the nick of time. I was so proud of myself for making it by 9:00 for a 9:15 class. It left me plenty of time to unload and drop off Lauren at "Kid stuff". I parked the car and got out. I opened the back door and then realized that I had forgot my shoes. Grrrrrrr....I was frustrated because I knew I would miss the entire class after having to drive the 10 minute drive back home to get my shoes. Without thinking, I shouted "OH SH**" as I slammed the door shut. I had barely pulled out of the parking lot on our drive home and Lauren dropped her sippy cup of water. After dropping her sippy cup, she stated "OH SH**!" I was shocked and amazed that not only did she copy exactly what I had said, but she also used it in appropriate context (okay, so not appropriate for her age!)
Oops mommy! Not a proud moment, but not one that I will ever forget. I'm not gonna lie either....I did crack a smile, I just didn't let Lauren see it. And I learned my lesson! My daugher will say anything I do and then some.
P.S. On a positive note, Lauren told Noel "Congratulations" on the phone today! Welcome to the family, Rob (officially).
