Walking!

The polls are closed. Everyone who voted was correct! It's time for an update from the dogs! How do they feel about Lauren's walking?

We just wanted to let you know that our sister took her first steps on March 22. It was a Sunday that we remember oh, so clear. Grandma Marilyn and Aunt Alyssa were here and so was our Great-Uncle Bruce. As usual, Lauren wanted Mom. Grandma had her. So instead of crawling to mom, Lauren took 4 steps toward her. Then she was so excited. So were we! Our baby sister just gets more and more fun to play with. Now that Lauren has had time to practice her walking, she can walk across our entire kitchen! In fact, Lauren prefers walking to crawling. She's still a little wobbly and will reach out to whatever she can get her hands on to steady herself, even us sometimes. We don't mind helping her out though. Sometimes, she stands and even plays ball with me. That is the best. (Can you guess the dog?) Lauren has also started crawling up the stairs...she did that last week when Grandma Marilyn stayed with us. That means that Lauren is able to independently go anywhere she wants in the house. Well, she hasn't quite figured out the "safe" way to go down the stairs yet. So, she can get stuck upstairs. She also likes to shut doors and has shut herself in different rooms (again getting herself stuck)! Check out the videos we took of Lauren's latest accomplishments.

Lauren likes to carry all sorts of items when she's walking: mommy's shoe, daddy's shoe, her hamper, books, my ball, diapers, the plunger!

She's so proud of going up the stairs. I (Sophie) remember when Charlie had to be carried up and down the stairs when he was a puppy. I (Charlie) was never scared to go on the stairs. My little legs were just too short for the stairs!
