My Hero went Home

The day we left for our vacation, my Grandpa Vernie had surgery due to breaking his hip the night before. Surgery went well, but God had other plans during recovery. We found out he wasn't doing well during the weekend.  By Tuesday, he was called home to heaven. I'm sure Grandma Agnes was waiting with a yummy home cooked meal and open arms.  I miss my WWII hero, one of the hardest working people I ever knew!  He never met a stranger and lived all almost 94 years of his life to the fullest!  We made it home in time to celebrate this great man's life with family on Saturday, September 21.  We love you Grandpa Vernie!
