Memorial Day weekend 2012: First Camping Trip

We went camping at Iowa last weekend!  Uncle Greg and Aunt Mary invited us along.  Nolan and I got to sleep in their camper, but mommy and daddy slept in a tent.  Guess who else was there!?  Grandma Bonnie and Grandpa Dave!  We had to drive a long, long time.  Nolan slept a little and I tried too.  It rained, no down poured for a long part of our drive.  When we finally got to Iowa...mommy says it was a town called Okoboji, we found our campsite.  We did not set up the tent, because the ground was wet.  Instead we met Papa Bruce and Grandma Sandi for lunch to celebrate my birthday.  We we got back, the ground was drier.  Mommy and daddy put up the tent.  Nolan slept in the car.  We went to the park.  Guess what, the park was close enough to push our baby strollers too.  Saturday was nice.  We went out to eat for supper.  It was fun to go with Grandma Bonnie, Grandpa Dave, Uncle Greg, Aunt Mary, cousin Meegs, and my family.  Then we hung out by the fire.  I got to stay up late and had smores for snack.  I put myself to bed and mommy couldn't find me for awhile.  I guess I was tired.

The next day, we woke up and had a picnic for breakfast!  I LOVE picnics.  Then we went to visit Grandpa Dave and Grandma Bonnie at Treasure Village.  We got to eat some really fresh kettle korn....Nolan LOVES it and can't get enough!
When we got back to the campsite, we ate a picnic lunch.  Then we girls got ready to go to the beach.  Daddy and Nolan stayed at the camper for a nap.  After swimming at the beach, we came back and took a shower at the shower house.  Then, we rode our bikes and played at the park.  Aunt Mary even pulled us in a bike trailer.  I was tired, so I took a snooze.  Nolan made a great pillow...but I don't think he liked it!

We had another picnic for supper.  Guess who came...my new cousin, Cianna!  Her parents, Uncle Neil and Aunt Jada, surprised us all.  We hung out with them all afternoon and they even stayed for our picnic supper.  They left at bedtime though...it was a good idea.  We didn't get a fire for very long on Sunday night.  It stormed alot. We had to pack up lots of stuff and then we were in the camper by shortly after 9.  There were LOTS of people in the camper...6 adults and 3 kids under 4 (two who were in packnplays!)  Mommy and daddy did end up back in their tent...mommy says it was about 11 when then went back outside.

I LOVE to camp.  Mommy says she does too, well, all except the bugs.  We didn't even mind the storm!  Thanks for inviting us to camp with you, Aunt Mary and Uncle Greg.  Please have us again sometime!
